LIBI 78th Annual Gala
The Long Island Builders Institute honored Sal Ferro, Immediate Past President at their 78th annual dinner dance gala at Huntington Crescent Club on Friday May 3rd. He had the privileged of being honored with Associate of the year & good friend Alan Kennemer.
Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project
Alure was proud to partner with Owens Corning Roofing and Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk to help a Farmingdale Veteran receive a new roof as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project. John Carter was a combat veteran who served in the Marines for 8 years. A big shout out to CBS New York for their media coverage.
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for DASH
Alure’s President/CEO & Family Service League Board Member attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for FSL’s new Diagnostic Assessment and Stabilization Hub which opened on Monday in Hauppauge. It is the first of its kind on Long Island and this center will provide on-the-spot evaluations and answer a growing need for care 24/7. NARI Contractor of the Year Award
Alure received a GOLD awards at the 2018 NARI CotY Awards held by the NYC/LI Chapter. Congrats to Kitchen and Bath Designer Elizabeth Clemens for her Residential Kitchen Project !

Alure was rank number 29 on Qualified Remodeler’s top 500 list for 2018. They did a feature article explaining the nimble approach to Alure’s diversification of service offerings and relying on strong management to sustain a successful brand.

Alure Home Improvements Featured On George To The Rescue
Alure was asked to team up with George To The Rescue to help a local deserving family in their Salisbury home. They started to undertake their first home renovation but the budget got the best of them and they just could not finish. Alure and George came to the rescue and were not only able to redo the kitchen, but they also added a pantry, redecorated the living room, did new landscaping on the exterior of the home and added a washer/dryer under the stairs. Firefighters Charitable Foundation Hero’s Award
Sal Ferro received the FFCF Hero’s Award at their dinner gala. He was recognized for his assistance to families in the Long Island community. Also honored was Bobby Valentine and Geri Barish.
Baiting Hollow Boat House
Alure Home Improvements teamed up with the Suffolk County Boy Scouts of America and Blue Line Builders, to knock down and rebuild the scouts Baiting Hollow Scout Camp boat house. This project would not be possible without the help of our vendors and trades, and we would like to thank them for their support, and for coming together to make this renovation a huge success. Thank you to Owens Corning, Allied Building Products and Blue Line Builders.

Fair Media Council Connection Day
Alure’s Director of Marketing took part in one of Fair Media Council’s Connection Day panels on recovering from a one-star review. He spoke about the rescue and recovery of a business’s street credit and what you need to do to make things right. American Heart Assocaition Walk
Alure put together a team to walk in a fundraiser to support the American Heart Association, a national organization dedicated to education, awareness and saving lives. These employees raised money to help save lives from this country’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers – heart disease and stroke.
HAI-LI CEO Breakfast
Sal Ferro was part of HIA-LI‘s CEO Panel Executive Breakfast on November 9th. Sal, along with other influential LI business leaders shared their success stories, philosophies and trends in their industry.
2016 Qualified Remodeler Magazine Top 500
In 2016 Alure Home Improvements is ranked #23 Remodeler in the United States in Qualified Remodeler Top 500 list.
Alure held a Kosher Kitchen Seminar and Pampered Chef fundraiser on Thursday March 24th at the showroom. Kosher Kitchen designer Sherry Gossett educated the clients on design and there were a bunch of experts to speak to including Appliance World about proper appliances, Stew Lenoards on different Kosher wines and they made it fun with cooking and learning with Pampered Chef! All proceeds benefited the Sharsheret Foundation. Sharsheret is a national not-for-profit organization supporting young Jewish women and their families facing breast cancer. Live It Up! host Donna Drake came by to cover the event.

2015 Chrysalis Award Bathroom Remodel
We are proud to announce that Teressa Rose, a custom kitchen and bathroom designer at Alure, won a 2015 Regional Chrysalis Award. Her bathroom remodel was titled “updated tranquility.” The combination of an updated design with a touch of Feng Shui landed her a Regional award for a bathroom remodel in the $75,000-$100,000 category.

Sal Ferro President & CEO of Alure & All Of It’s Employees were honored by The Long Island Association for the 2014 Humanitarian Award. This award is given to a company who is recognized for their dedication and commitment to the Long Island community.
2014 Chrysalis Award Basement Remodel
Gregory Griffin, an Owens Corning Basement Finishing System Designer, won a 2014 Regional Chrysalis Award for his multifunctional design for a client’s basement. He incorporated all of their needs into one spot including a media area, a gym, a place for the kids to play, a bar and a bathroom.
A group of Alure employees are participating in the Habitat for Humanity walk-a-thon at Eisenhower Park on Sunday October 13th to help raise awareness on the current global housing crisis.
Long Island Press PowerList Hall of Fame
Sal Ferro was recognized by the Long Island Press as #25 on the PowerList Hall of Fame.
Every year Alure employees take part in the March for Babies walk at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, NY to help raise money for research in an effort to help premature babies.
2014 Chrysalis Award Kitchen Remodel
We are proud to announce that Mary Lotardo, a custom kitchen and bathroom designer at Alure, won a 2014 Regional Chrysalis Award. She was awarded this for her superior design and function of a new kitchen for one of her clients. This even included a recess coffee maker and dowel pegboard drawers for her ceramic pieces.
One of Alure’s corporate partners, Medallion Bank, was so intrigued by Sal Ferro’s participation in the Long Island Fight For Charity, they interviewed him about Alure’s culture and community involvement, and are working to pay it forward, as they look to inspire others in the community to make a difference.

On October 10, 2013 Sal “The Hammer” Ferro and Former NHL Islander Clark Gillies hosted a bartending fundraiser at The Rosewood Inn in Melville to raise money for the Fight For Charity. It was the first of two big fundraisers and it turned out to be a huge success! Thanks to everyone who came out to help some great causes on Long Island!
NARI Contractor of the Year Award
Congratulations to Alure Kitchen & Bath Designer Sherry Gossett who was awarded the Silver Winner of Residential Kitchens for her Excellence in Design at the 2013 NARI CotY Awards held by the NYC/LI Chapter of the National Association of Remodelers (NARI). August 2007, Sal Ferro is interviewed by Long Island Magazine to discuss the Vitale family build for Extreme Makeover : Home Edition.
Alure’s first annual summer remodeling fashion show took place at our East Meadow showroom to display some of the hottest new products and trends in the remodeling industry. Alure employees strutted down the aisle showcasing these products. In case you missed it, check out some of the trends here.

For the second year in a row, Alure had over 30 employees take part in the Marcum Workplace Challenge to support healthy living among our employees as well as raising money for some wonderful Long Island charities, including Long Island Children’s Museum, Long Island Cares, The Harry Chapin Food Bank and Children’s Medical Fund of New York.

The Townwide Fund of Huntington celebrates 50 years of supporting Huntington not-for-profits at an anniversary gala fundraiser. The gala honored Sal Ferro, who made significant contributions to the Fund’s success through his dedicated work and philanthropy.

Sal Ferro was a featured panelist for the Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies (JCHS) Remodeling Futures meeting. They spoke about the remodeling/housing market and what to expect in 2013.

The Marcum Workplace Challenge is a 3.5 mile run/walk and was held for the seventh consecutive year at Jones Beach State Park. Its purpose is to build camaraderie among employees, offer networking opportunities while having fun and to help people focus on staying healthy. Alure had over 30 employees participate. Qualified Remodeler Top 500 List 2012
Alure is recognized by Qualified Remodeler as the #15 Remodeler in the United States on their Top 500 list.
About 2 years ago, 15-year-old Andrew Rosa, while riding his bike, was hit by a car and severely injured. In order for Andrew to return home, his house needed to be outfitted to handle the special needs of hospital equipment and lifts.
