Why would I consider a Sunroom for my home?
The idea of adding a sunroom isn’t unusual for homeowners in Long Island. In fact, a Joyce sunroom by Alure can actually provide one of the highest Return On Investment (ROI) at the time when you may choose to sell your home. Currently sunrooms are one of the most popular remodeling choices that are trending upwards in 2012.
One of the reasons making this possible is the technology used in its manufacture and construction. Just like in the medical field or with computer technology, there is always a new machine or procedure making peoples lives better. The building industry has made some significant strides in making sunrooms a viable alternative to “new construction” when considering adding usable space to your home for your family.
Owens Corning Sunsuite Contest Winners!
As proud partners with Owens Corning, Alure Home Improvements participates in their annual “Brighten Your Life” sunroom giveaway. The Sunsuite product is revolutionary in its engineering and energy efficiency. As a northeast region franchisee of the Owens Corning Basement Finishing System and Sunsuite products, we are proud to share in the announcement of the winners for the 2011 Sunroom Giveaway. Tom and Leslie Sullivan of Huntington, New York were awarded a free Owens Corning Sunsuite.
Tom and Leslie, while visiting our showroom in East Meadow, expressed an interest in our Sunroom display. They considered the possibility of adding more living space and found themselves learning more about the year round comforts of an energy efficient sunroom. Ultimately that interest resulted in their entering the Owens Corning Giveaway and they stand as living proof one should never say “never.”
Presenting the check to the proud recipients Tom and Leslie Sullivan, is Seth Selesnow, Director of Marketing, Alure Home Improvements.
The Alure Home Improvements Long Island showroom is a resource for information with full size displays that can help Long Island homeowners envision their dreams of home improvements. We will often encounter the inquiring homeowner who will ask, – “What’s new in remodeling?”
One popular trend in light of the upcoming season of warmer weather is a rekindling of interest that homeowners have recently shown to expand their living space outdoors. In fact, in 1992, the US Census noted that 42 percent of new homes had one or more porches. By 2008 that statistic had risen to 60 percent. Deck replacement, the addition of a new screened porch and front porches are three remodeling trends that are on the rise.
The “porch” as we know it today is commonly known as the “front porch.” It is not so much what is popular in home design unless it is attached to a curb appeal renovation that when completed will update the overall look of a home. The real interest in porches lately has been a desire to take advantage of the outdoors without the hassle of sunscreen, avoiding the hot sun and or the bugs.Read more ›

This month’s featured project is a modular build that Alure Home Improvements constructed in East Northport, NY. What is modular construction? Modular construction is a more resource-efficient way of building. The actual home is split up into several sections, or boxes that contain bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. that are built off-site. This means the boxes are built in a quality controlled setting, code-compliant and built with “green” consideration, all resulting in a high quality product. The boxes are then transported to the site, craned into place and attached to one another. The plumbing and electric get hooked up, and that’s it. In a fraction of the time it would take to build a home with traditional framing methods you have an entire house built, which creates an easier transition for the homeowner.Read more ›
