 Sal Ferro Honored with the Prestigious Fred Case Remodeling Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Sal Ferro has been honored with The 2008 Fred Case Remodeling Entrepreneur of the Year Award. "Sal represents not only entrepreneurial thinking but entrepreneurial action," says Mark Richardson, president of Case Design/Remodeling and a judge. Besides Ferro's generous charitable work, Richardson cites his lead role in developing the Owens Corning basement franchising program, his innovative approach to "packaging" bathroom remodels at different price points, and his use of design-imaging software to differentiate Alure Home Improvements from its competition and distinguish siding and other exterior products as much more than commodities. "Alure is a breeding ground of ideas," Richardson says.
Fred Case, though not involved in reviewing nominees, is "very impressed with [Ferro's] professionalism, his work with the basement franchise, and the administrative systems that he's developed," Case says. "He runs a sharp operation in a very competitive market," and Alure's diversification and name recognition have helped him take intelligent risks and grow at a manageable pace, he adds.

Ferro honored as Businessman of the Year by Columbia Police Association of Nassau County
The Columbia Police Association of Nassau County honored Ferro on October 23rd at the North Ritz Club in Syosset for his leadership in the Italian American Community, for his continued commitment to the Long Island community, strong business ethics and for his strong commitment to his family. Ferro was also honored with a proclamation from County Executive Tom Suozzi.

 Alure's VP Lisa DiFilippi honored by Girl Scouts
In addition to providing much needed financial support to Girl Scouts in-need, the Girl Scouts of Nassau County honored DiFilippi for her commitment to her community, drive and enthusiasm for Girl Scouting. The event was held on October 02, 2008 at the North Hempstead Country Club in Port Washington and raised over $100,000 for Girl Scouts in-need.

 Ferro Honored by the Long Island Museum
On April 30, 2008, Sal Ferro was honored by the Long Island Museum for Alure's "committment to the environment". Alure has taken a leadership role in the Home Improvement industry involvement in "going green". Alure has played a lead role in Nassau County's Green Levittown program; Alure has partnered with LIPA as a certified Home Performance Contractor working with homeowners to improve the efficiency and comfort of their homes, while saving money and the enviornment; Alure has also started a new division devoted to improving energy efficiency, Alure Home Performance Solutions.
