On April 30, 2008, Sal Ferro was honored by the Long Island Museum for Alure's "committment to the environment". Alure has taken a leadership role in
the Home Improvement industry involvement in "going green". Alure has played a lead role in Nassau County's Green Levittown program; Alure has partnered with LIPA as a certified Home Performance Contractor working with homeowners to improve the efficiecny and comfort of their homes, while saving money and the enviornment; Alure has also started a new division devoted to improving energy efficiecy, Alure Home Performance Solutions.
