Here's what you're saying about the Vitale Family Makeover...

Sal and the Alure Team:

I wanted to thank you, ALL of you, for giving me the ability to show my children that there are people out there, companies even, run by people who are genuinely wanting to help other people. I've been watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition weekly and seeing your company and the things you manage to pull together as a team for these families in need, and you are, as a team and obviously a close-knit team at that, an inspiration. I am always touched by what I see in the Design Team of EMHE, but more recently it's what I've seen in YOUR company that has touched my heart. Please keep doing what you're doing, everything comes back in the end. I hope that my children learn something from watching you in action.

Thank you again and please please keep up the good work.

~Shonna G., NV

PS please understand, it's hard to find inspiration in Vegas, so seeing you all in action has been awe-inspiring.

I have seen your company twice now, and (of course) have cried my eyes out each time. What a wonderful company to work for. Is there a fund that I might contribute to in order to keep your tenderhearted community involvement going strong?

Thanks.

Anne B

I just wanted to express my thoughts on the latest show. I started crying from the beginning, and did not stop until after the show went off the air. I am utterly amazed at what can be done in such a short amount of time. I have watched this show, since it's inception, and am touched by the generosity that your company shows. Sal and the people who work for him, have some of the biggest hearts I have ever seen. It makes me want to help too, just watching how everyone seems to pitch in, and gives of themselves, and I hope to god I actually have the chance to one day, should something ever come to my area. The stories, are touching, and sometimes heart wrenching, but it warms my heart to see there is still some goodness out there in this great big world of ours.

Please don't ever stop doing what you are doing. You bring joy, happiness and life back into people lives.

Should I ever be lucky enough to be able to afford my own home some day, I can promise there would be no doubt in my mind, I would contact you to build it for me.

Thanks for doing such great work.

Lydia F.

When my sister and I learned that Extreme Home Makeover (we never miss a show) was coming to Long Island, we drove an hour from Garden City (where we live) after work just to be there. It sure was crowded, but we finally were able to get up close enough to see the new Vitale house as the furniture was being delivered Tuesday night (the family was coming home the next day). Alure sure did a wonderful job (as always) – I don’t think Sal would have it any other way! He is such a kind, caring and generous man just like all the others who worked on this project and all the others. I think I cried the whole two hours that I watched the show last night. John Vitale and his sons are truly deserving of their wonderful new home. As John Vitale said last night – Ann-Marie didn’t want them to move so she would know where to find them! Extreme Home Makeover and all those concerned have made sure that Ann-Marie will always know where to find her family! I’m sure she is looking down on them right now with a big smile on her face!

Extreme Home Makeover touches my heart each week – keep up the great work! God bless you all.

Sincerely,

Diane S., Garden City, New York

Sal and the crew:

Extreme Makeover is one of my family's favorite shows. It's very uplifting to see Americans helping each other, and the show is put together so it's entertaining as well.

I like to use this show as a teaching tool to my kids, pointing out the teamwork involved, the good feelings you get from giving, as well as the design, architectural, and construction elements.

You folks deserve a great big pat on the back for all your good work.

The show mentioned someone was selling Vitale family t-shirts - any idea how I can buy some?

Thanks,

Mike C.

I just finished watching Extreme Home ...The Vitale Family...and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all that you did for that wonderful family and that BOAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was TRULY amazing! What a wonderful man you are, Sal,(loved your tears) and your company is a BLESSING to so many.

I'm only sorry I don't live in your area so that I could use your services...I'm on the west coast!

I don't have to say keep up the good work cuz I can tell from your HEART that you will.

Charlene W.

You are a great company....thanks for caring and taking part in this worth while project. May God bless your business and your life...

Thanks !

Missy R., NC

Sal,

My name is Mike Birschbach a name from the distant past. To jog your memory I pitched for your softball team around 17 years ago. We actually won the championship together in 87. Sorry to say I never got to pick up my trophy but I do have a signed softball from the team. In any case seeing you on Extreme Makeover brought back a lot of great memories. Hedy, my son Mike and my daughter Marissa were watching the show last night when I came home from my softball game only to have them attack me (Yes, I still play). Your friend Sal is on TV, at this point I said Sal who? Hedy had the old photo album and I couldn’t believe it. There was the team in what seems like a different life time.

I just wanted to send you a quick note to say that what you did for that family was incredible. Knowing you I believe those words really came from your heart. I see from your web-site that this was not a one time event but an on-going charity effort. I’m proud to have known you and call you a friend. I hope time has treated you well, and that you and your brother are happy. I hope you are still with Lori and that you guys have made a great life together. Keep up the great work your making a difference.

Take care of yourself.

Great Job!

Mike

Dear Sal and Crew,

My daughters and I spent the better part of 4 days in St. James watching you build the Vitale home. Oh Alright mostly so the girls could see Ty! Never did get his autograph but found something much more important. People all coming together to help this man and his boys. Being there for 15 hours in one day was not my idea of fun but my daughters would not let me leave. In that time we talked to some of the crew and they really made being there fun despite that fact that they were "really working" all those long hours! Being able to see the house from demolition through to when you gave Ty the keys, watching rubble transform into an amazing house so quickly was something we will never forget!

As amazing as it was to have extreme makeover here on LI and to see the house being built, I did not truly appreciate all you did for the Vitale family and the community until I watched the show last night. The show was amazing. I cried the whole time. To see how much you really care, and how much you all really did renewed my faith in people. I wish you all the Extreme happiness and success in your future that you have given to all the families you have helped!

Keep up the great work!

Pam S. & Family

I’ve only recently got hooked onto Extreme Makeover about two months ago, but this is the second time I’ve seen Sal head up a project. Anyway…it’s so touching to see someone like him genuinely care for these families in need. Obviously the whole show does wonderful things for amazing people and everyone affiliated with it deserves thanks and praise. However, as an outside business man, Sal has brought a special touch to those shows he’s been involved with. My husband was “mocking” me last night when we were watching the show as I would only ever get teary when I saw Sal cry – his empathy for this family was unbelievably touching. I really admire him for providing such a great service, especially since it’s coupled with such great care. Please keep doing these wonderful things. You are a blessing!

Richelle G., OH

I watched your Vitale makeover and as an original long islander now living in North Carolina - I was so touched. I also went to high school with Sal Vines and I noticed him right away when they hung up the V over the house. How funny is that.

You are wonderful people doing wonderful work for those in need and I'm so proud to be a New Yorker!!!

Thank you!

Laura A., NC

Dear Mr. Ferro:

I have honestly never done this before, but I was so touched by the generosity you showed for the Vitale Family that I wanted to recognize it. I am a huge Survivor fan, so for me to be more drawn to ABC during the finale show of Survivor says a lot. I was so impressed with you and your crew. Your emotion and love for the Vitale's and what you do was evident. I just wanted to say thank you from a complete stranger...you touched my heart.

Sincerely,

Sheryl in Naples Florida

Hello...

I never send emails like this. What you did for the Vitale family touched my heart in the most profound way. As the mother of two young children it broke my heart to hear their story. The way you made Ann Marie's dream happen is truly inspiring.

Thank you for being a huge part of this.....you are truly wonderful people..

Coleen M.

Sal

You and your team………………HEARTS of GOLD

Job well done !! Local company does good !!

Gary F., Merrick, NY

I am writing you to tell you what a wonderful thing you have done to help that father and his children. I live in Vancouver B.C Canada and saw the show and though i would say great job

I think it would be nice if you had a company in Dallas Texas. From what I see on the shows Sal has the respect of his employees. How else can he get them to move so fast?

I knew when i started watching tonight that it was going to be good when I saw it was Sal doing the building i knew that things would turn out great Sal this is from my heart I wish that there were more people in this world like you I don't know what more i can say to you but Thanks for all you do you God will bless you in all you do You have a place in heaven for all you do on Earth

J.R.

Wow Allure...you are the best...your third makeover and the best yet. Tell Ty to move over...Sal has real star power and looked great on the bus with the rest of the design team...seriously God Bless You for your contribution to the Vitale family. You make this world a better place. Sincerely, Nanette and Paul Girolamo

Enjoyed tonight's program - - job well done ! Another very deserving family - - very moving story as always.

Has anyone considered making the home's floor plans (all episodes) available to the public for purchase (at a reasonable price,

of course) ? ? I found the one in tonight's program very appealing. Some of the homes are very large and 'overdone', but this one seemed appropriate for most anyone's neighborhood and/or pocketbook.

Clarice S., FL

I watched this & thought that that is one house that I might like to build. I was wondering if you could let me know of where I might find plans for this house. I loved the outside and the rock front porch, but definetly would want to change the inside. I don't have any small boys. If there is a house plan, I surely would like to have it. Thanks & I loved the show.

Beth B.

I just wanted to email and say WOW! I watched the show tonight and I was just moved by how Sal Ferro and Alure just really touched my heart with all that you did. You folks should be darn proud of what you have done and I would have your company do work for me any day of the week. Tell everyone at Alure that they will always be remembered for there great contribution.

Thanks,

Jared S., OH

What a fabulous job once again for another deserving family. Your company makes all of New York look good. What a refreshing change of pace to see people with such heart and deep kindness. Nothing will replace the mother and wife to this family, but you have helped them go on and live life again. What a wonderful gift you have been given and continue to give. As citizens of the Pocono's, the unofficial sixth borough of New York City, we are humbled to see you work and to say that there are a few "good" New Yorkers out there. Thank you for sharing your gifts, time and talents to needy families. God bless you and your company.

Celisa and Tom C., PA

P.S. After extensive home remodeling ourselves and my husband's many certifications (welding, pipe fitting, HVAC), if you ever need help on a job like this, we'd love to be there to tear it down and put it up.

I saw tonights episode of E.H.M and I am NOT the kind of person to cry and get emotional but HOLY MOLY GUACAMOLE ( as my 6 yr old would say) I was completely blown away. What you did was sooooo amazing, so incredibly thoughtful and giving. Those precious baby boys will not understand for a long time what you and ABC did for them but one day...one day they will.

I would love to do something for the family. I don't know of course what they need. I have never done something like this before ... I was just so drawn in by the episode. If you can let me know where to send something or how it is I can help.....

Thanks so much

Shyra H., GA

I read the stories, I watched the shows...you guys are really the best and please tell your team and everyone who helped that your neighbors are really proud of you ! You are what we "New Yorkers" strive to be !

Thank you and God Bless you !

Annamaria and Mark M., West Islip, NY

I'm still crying but I couldn't help and reach out to say thanks to such a wonderful person.

Thanks,

Kate V.

God Bless you...it should be a great feeling that your kindness can bring tears to ten million faces.

Sal

You are one in a million. Words cannot express how I feel about the work you do. Keep up the great work.

PS: Why don't you open a branch out here in Arizona. We could really use a builder like you.

Thanks

Larry L., AZ

You guys did a great job out in St James. May you always work with the Love you guys felt for that family . God Bless you all and the memory of Ann Marie.

JoJo

What a tremendous heart Sal has for his community, it's citizen's, and his fellow man. A beautiful home built with a dedicated company of fine and talented people.

I applaud you all!

Thanks for a great show tonight!

Darren & Laurie I., Prince Edward Island, Canada

Dear Mr.Ferro,

I just want to thank you for your commitment to Extreme Makeover,Home Edition. It makes me believe that there are wonderful caring people in this world. All of the builders that pour their hearts into this are a wonderful testament to humanity. I built my home with Habitat For Humanity for my girls and I , and I had an absolute ball doing it ! Yes, I worked my tail off, did the roof, climbed in the rafters, dug footers BY HAND WITH A SHOVEL, all of it and loved every minute of it.

I am so impressed with you, this isn't your first home with them and that is impressive, plus you look like you are loving every minute of it. That is very cool . By the way~ the boat is over the top !. You are a good man. I wish there were more like you.

If you ever find yourself heading to Sarasota Florida, let me know, I would love to cook you dinner ,a little thank you from me.

Sherry, FL

Dear Sal, You guys are great. The Vitale house was so pretty. I know the family will enjoy it for many years to come. I think you and your team work magic.

I wish you folks worked in Virginia. I would definitely have you do my master suite addition.

Sal, my sister wants to know of you have a single brother.

Again you guys are great.

Sincerely,

Nancy G., VA

You guys are simply amazing.

Thank you for providing your time, energy, heart and services to this deserving man and his beautiful children.

Everyone involved moved me to tears - being from Long Island and in the process of actually moving to St. James, just made it hit home even more.

You all should be proud of yourself.

Sincerely,

Stacey S.

Dear Sal and the crew from Alure,

I'm in the process of watching the Extreme Makeover Edition that took place on Long Island a few moths ago. I'm sure you'll receive many emails with these same sentiments, but I still felt it important to write and share my thoughts.

What your company did for the Vitale family was truly extraordinary. There was caring, concern, and it wasn't about publicity. The house is amazing.

Someday, when I own a home and am looking for a company to renovate it, YOU will be my first and only call.

For all you did and all you do, thank you. You represent us on Long Island very well.

Carole P., Lindenhurst, NY

Dear Sal and Crew,

I just watched (and taped) Extreme Makeover Home Edition of the Vitale Family. I am just writing to express my feelings on what an extraordinary job you and your company did to make the Vitale Family’s dreams come true after such a tragic loss. I don’t usually tape this show but I had to do so so that I could watch it again and see each step that was taken to make each room into a home and come out with such a masterpiece in the end. Little did you all realize that the project that was to be a makeover turned out to be a complete rebuilding of a house and the dedication you all put into it was just an unconditional dedication to your profession. The outcome as I said was extraordinary. As I watched channel 12 news, I saw the ad for your company and had to write.

My family and I watched this particular episode this evening with heavy hearts of our own. My youngest sister, Jennifer, had just lost her husband to cancer on November 1, 2004. Jennifer and Dominick reside in Shirley, Long Island, NY. Dominick was diagnosed at the end stages of his lung cancer in May 2005. He, too, succumbed to this horrible disease 5 months after diagnosis. They have 3 sons as well. Lucas, Jack and baby Dominick Jr. (Our family found the similar names ironic to the Vitale story). Jennifer found out she was pregnant with little Dominick one month before Dominick’s cancer diagnosis. So he did not get to see the birth of his newborn son. But as some higher being oversaw, his son was born on his daddy’s birthday, November 28th. I was privileged to be in the delivery room watching this wonderful experience take place. Dominick would have been 39 years old that very day. The almost mirror image of the Vitale Family to the Giovanniello Family was so ironic. In fact, when I heard that Extreme Makeover was looking for families in the Long Island area a few months ago, I was so prompted to write in on behalf of my sister. But the loss was too great at the time for any changes in her life; we are all still struggling as you must know. She recently just sold her home a month ago so she could be closer to our parents in Holtsville, to help out with her being a full-time, working mom and trying to raise her 3 young boys. She remains looking for a new home in the Holtsville area.

I am keeping your website as a favorite bookmark and hopefully she will find a new home soon… and that I can suggest she look you all up when the time comes. A company that you can count on and trust from what I’ve seen.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to write and tell you all what a magnificent job and performance you’ve all done!

Sincerely, Laura E
